Malama Honua Event
On a bright sunny hot morning, the senior students from Glenbrae school went to the Point England Reserve with the other students from the Manaiakalani cluster.
Everyone was at Point England beach and there were over 2000 people there. Once all the 12 schools were there, the waka arrived and a small speed boat brought the crew from the waka to the beach.
When everyone came off the boat, we started to sing some waiatas and performed the haka to welcome them. We all enjoyed it and we had so much fun. Then people from both sides exchanged speeches and more singing followed.
Finally they introduced themselves and we did high fives as our farewell. Some of the students from Glenbrae school were chosen to stay back and have a korero with them while the rest of the seniors walked back to school in the hot scorching sun.
